37th New York Volunteers - Irish Rifles

The color bearer of the Irish Rifles waves the distinctive green silk with gold embroidery Irish flag of the regiment.  They attended all of the parties thrown by the Army of the Potomac till May, 1863, when those that reenlisted were merged with the 40th NY.  The 40th was privileged to be invited to Grant's Overland March, and the end of the conflict.
